Flymo 1000w Microlite Lawn Mower
The Flymo 1000W Microlite Lawn Mower is a lightweight, electric hover mower that floats on a cushion of air for quick and easy mowing.
Featuring a 1000W motor, 2 cutting heights and a 12m power cable the Microlite is ideal for smaller gardens. There is some assembly required and you will need a screwdriver.

after searching the web for a lightweight lawn mower i found that asda was the best price for the mower that i wanted. the mower arrived at the store when they said it would and the staff were very helpful. i would have no hesitation in recommending asda on line.

My existing Flymo coped with my lawns in the past, but now is on the heavy side for mowing but serves well for grass collection.The Microlite is perfect for trimming my lawns on a regular basis which prompted the purchase.

Great lawnmower for price, Only have a small lawn & this does a great job.
Lightweight and easy to use, only negative was fitting the upper handles to the lower ones when assembling was very fiddly.

Took longer to put together than it lasted in use. Plastic blades buckled and twisted the cutting mechanism when used on relatively short grass. Unusable and broken within 5 minutes. Very flimsy plastic. Total waste of money. Product not fit for purpose.

I use it to replace an existing mower which had blown up on me after many years of service due to short circuit in the mower wire. I was surprised how effectively the plastic blades cut the grass. The machine was easy to assemble from the box but I failed to fit the orange plastic lugs half way up the mower. It did not matter as the parts were effectively secured by the bolts. After use the machine was fairly easy to clean.If I had any criticism it would be that I could have done with an extra metre of cable.

cutting height easily adjusted for average and a very close cut,
(The cutting height is adjusted by turning over the concave/convex blade holder and fitting it as one would a bayonet light fitting. If it does not fit easily then do as I did and exchange it for one which does as I ended up nicking my wrist as 2 of us struggled to fit the piece before deciding it simply was not possible on that particular mower.)

Easy to carry and use. Because it is so light and small it is ideal for the compact area of grass I have in my front garden. It cut the grass well.
My only complaint is with the assembly instructions which said "...motor cover...as illustrated" but there was no illustration. Easy to figure out despite the poor instructions.

This was a replacement as I already had a Microlite mower before. Only dissapointment was that there was no metal part like my old one which fits from the handle to the mower to keep it upright it therefore has to lie flat before it can be ready for use.

This is very light and therefore easy to use. It is quite simple to put together. As with all Flymo lawnmowers I have had though, there is a tendency for the airways to become traps for dried grass and this is not easily removed.

The Flymo mower is light, easy to use and great for small areas of grass. It is easy to change the plastic blades and comes with plenty to keep you going although they are easy to buy on-line or d-i-y stores.

Generally, you get what you pay for, but this mower is cheap and good for the money. I bought it to replace the exact same model which finally gave up the ghost after 12 years service.
True, it has plastic blades (not to everyone's taste), only two cut height settings, it doesn’t have a grass catcher, and the cable could do with being a couple of metres longer (to avoid the need for extension leads) but these are all minor gripes. I also find that I usually have to go over the lawn a second time to get a good even finish, but hey, I’ve only got a small lawn so no problem there either!
Its motor struggles a bit with long grass (say over 2-3 inches), but it is light enough to hold a few inches off the ground until it has cut the grass to a more manageable length. However, it’s probably better (and safer) to cut the grass every couple of weeks in the growing season to avoid this problem.
On the plus side, it only takes a couple of minutes to set up for use and the handle folds in half for storage, which is a real advantage (if like me) you have limited storage space.
In conclusion, an ideal mower for a small lawn if you aren't bothered about having pick up a few grass cuttings and don't mind going over it twice to get a decent cut.
