Morphy Richards 47020 Mattino Stainless Steel Espresso Coffee Maker

The built in Smart Press System intuitively tamps your coffee, maintaining 18 bar pressure. It is compatible with both ground coffee and E.S.E. pods and has three temperature settings meaning you can vary the taste and temperature according to your preference.

I was a bit dubious in ordering this after reading some of the reviews, but so far it ha proved to be an excellent machine.
My previous coffee maker was a Gaggia and quite awkward to fill with water.
This maker however has an easily accessible water tank.
I've used both ground coffee and the ESE coffee pods and have found the coffee pods make a much better cup of coffee.
The steam function froths the milk quickly and produces a good amount of froth.
Although this is a fairly expensive machine I would recommend it.
Asda 's price is very competitive as I have seen the coffee maker in other stores at over £200.

Received product; Read the manual (it takes while as the controls are comprehensive and complicated); Filled it up; Started the cleaning cycle and....Nothing.
The screen lit up, the buttons worked, icons flashed, the pump whirred but no water of any temperature came out - anywhere.
The build quality, style and facilities don't matter a jot if the machine can't make coffee.
Returned.
I have ordered another as the machine looks as if it will be very good.
But....
One star.
Try harderto make sure a product actually works before you despatch it..

The model we got had a fault. After the brew cycle the extra water ended up on the worktop instead of in the drip tray as specified. MR confirmed this was a faulty model and we took it back for a refund from ASDA. But it also seemed to be uneven in the amount of coffee dispensed from each nozzel. If you were decanting into two cups one would be full and the other somewhat short. Even with the 2cup filter full of coffee the brew was still too weak to make into a decent Yorkshire mug of Latte or Americano. And even leaving it as an espresso it was not very strong. We now have a cheapie Delonghi EC152 that produces strong coffee (albiet that you need to fill the filter to the two person level to get strong enough coffee for one americano) in a compact no fuss machine.

looked at the review before I ordered it it looked good did all that I wanted it to do.
It was the best prise I looked for 2 weeks in shops and on line. Got it delivered to my asda it arrived on the day it should very helpfull .its the first time I have used this service and would recommend it every time.
