Bought this kettle a couple of months ago to replace my old Smartprice Kettle that finally gave up after 3/4 yrs so that was well worth the £5 I paid for it. This kettle is great value, easy to clean and very lightweight which is great for people like me who can't lift heavy items or havee arthritus. My kettle is hardly off the boil in this house with all the visitors and comings and goings so it gets a lot of use. I have always bought ASDA SmartPrice kettles & if they went wrong within 12mths took it back & got a replacement- no problem - excellant value

DON'T BUY IT ..ITS CHEEP AND NASTY AND DOSN'T BOIL PROPERLY KEEPS TURNING ITSELF OFF MID BOIL AND TAKES FOR EVER TO TURN ON.. A WASTE OF MONEY .. PAY A LITTLE EXTRA AND BUY ONE THAT LASTS NOT 2 DAYS AND THEN BREAKS I'M RETURNING AT THE WEEKEND FOR MY MONEY BACK .. HONESTLY DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY...

SPILLS water!

It works fine, boils water quickly, very cheap and affordable specially for students.
It worked fine for the first few weeks, but then the lid stopped closing properly, every time i pour water out of it, it spills everywhere so I have to push down the lid and hold it while pouring water out.
I thought the built in strainer was good, but it was so think that broke away in only 4 weeks... but still its the cheapest kettle, if the lid would properly close I wouldn't complain.

bought this for my mother. basically its horrible. when you press the lever down to boil the water, it springs back up straight away and so you have to hold down the button for a few seconds till it decides its ok to boil the water independantly. its extremely tempremental. its no good for my mum she has arthirish in her hands and theres no way she can hold this button down till its finished boiling. its lightweight which was ok, but i wont recommend or buy this

Bits in Kettle - Element Gone Rusty

Initially this appeared to be a good buy, but unfortunately after just a couple of months of use, there are bits of debris coming out of the kettle every time the kettle is used. After looking inside the kettle, the heating element appears to have gone rusty and the bits of debris are coming from the element. Tomorrow I shall be returning this to the Asda store for a refund.

Just as it said on the label, great value for money, replaced a value range kettle from a catalogue shop and was better looking, better construted, and well thought out having multiple socket outlets on the base meaing no trailing wires, much quicker to boil as well. Many thanks asda another bargain,more to spend on my next asda shop.

Great little kettle, boils quickly and I would buy one again.
Only downside is, the clear part of the kettle which shows how full the kettle is, is only on 1 side so you can only have the kettle facing in one direction. A pain if you are left handed or it is in a small kitchen and needs to face the other way.

Very good value for money - Not only does this kettle boil water but it is very easy to keep clean and free from calcium deposits. The top opening is large enough to get my hand in to wipe around the inside and there is no lip at the top to hold the dregs when you turn the kettle upside down.

LOL at the example: eg best purchase ever :) yeah, for the price it works very well and does the job, theres no point in buying something expensive that does exactly the same as this kettle. So very good value for money too, and it looks quite nice aswell.
